Six Short Points on a Pseudo-Friday
1. I have been in so many listless work meetings today that my head is filled with phrases like “forward thinking,” “marketing analysis,” and “extensive research and application.” These phrases have replaced the fun ones I was thinking earlier, which included “Paas coloring kit,” “lethal Cadbury mini eggs,” and “Thank the lord for fast acting insulin.”2. “Generation D” has been updated for April.
3. The weather outside is sunny and warmish and if my office had windows (and if I had an office) I would be pressing my face against the glass. Instead, I grabbed my markers and drew a big, yellow, smiling sunshine on an insurance report before I submitted it. The chuckle and the wry look it received were warranted.
4. My mother is auditioning for “Deal or No Deal!” and the video submission that Chris filmed for her is currently in post production. My mother, her three sisters, and I are the No Deal Team. I’m coming to realize that we may be a slightly peculiar family.
5. I am so looking forward to this long weekend that I keep bursting into a grin for no apparent reason, causing the Brits who sit near me at work to eye me suspiciously.
6. And everytime my fingers hit the keys, my Larry Bird bobbles his head in agreement.

Thanks for mentioning the eggs...now I'm craving them badly. My college roommate's father was a salesman for Hershey's and he'd ship us a huge box of candy (damn him to hell)...and the first things to go were those heavenly eggs.
That's so cool that your mom is trying out for that game show...it'll be a blast seeing you all there if she makes it!
What you need is a good cup of berry-flavored tea. Next Monday or Tuesday you say? Tuesday is best for me...
Nicole - Tuesday. TeaLuxe. 8 o'clock?
Shannon - Once Chris finishes editing the video, I'm going to try and post it on the blog.
Ooh goody!
Hi Kerri!
So I'm reading your points off one-by-one and this is the conversation that's in my head (c'mon, you do it too):
1) Yeah, I had meetings all day too. "Can't you people just SPEAK ENGLISH?" Why all the fancy terminology?
2) Read the article, thought it was good, wondered about people and their stories about being discriminated against for having D
3) I looked around my cube, that, by the way is so small I can reach two opposite walls when I spread my arms, and thought to myself - "I have no idea if the sun is out or not...hell, I can't even tell if it's day or night!" Damned artificial lighting and beige colored everything.
4) I'm ashamed to admit I've never seen that show - but think it would be cool if your mom got on it! Have I mentioned I only get to watch Spongebob Squarepants?
5) I'm stuck working 'til 7:00pm, so the end of the day is still too far off to warrant any grins of near freedom.
6) Sweet! You should get a license plate on your new hybrid that reads "LB4EVA". Talk about a conversation starter! Then they would just look at you like you're crazy...
Indeed, sounds good. Tuesday 8pm.
I have tomorrow AND Monday off. Tomorrow I'm going for an ultrasound and then Olivia and I are going to get ice cream (yay for the pump!) at Herrell's, which is the best ice cream. Ever. I may take her to lunch, too.
I. Can't. Wait.
Kerri, I am not a fan of game shows, but I can't seem to get enough of Deal or No Deal. It will be very exciting if your mom gets on there.
And, I hope you have a great Easter weekend!
Kerri-
I've never seen Deal or No Deal, but will definitely tune in if your mom makes it on :-)
Oh, and the Larry Bird bobble head... priceless. (Kudos to Scott!)
Have a wonderful Easter weekend!
LOL
Mini eggs...drooooool
My little crazy person is still doing the "I have Monday off" dance in my head.
Nothing sucks more, then looking up and seeing a giant beige wall with no windows
People have this Monday off?! Oh yeah, I work for a CPA firm and Monday is the tax deadline!! Enjoy your long weekend Kerri :)
Something about working in a Cubicle Farm and finally understanding all the jokes made in Dilbert cartoons and Office Space makes me sad.
It does makes Office Space even freaking funnier, but I digress...
Hey!
I've just read your entire blog. Took me a while, had dinner and a few cups of tea in between but it's really really good. I've got the big D and I have a pump called percy!!! Deal or No Deal!!!!! My mom and me are hooked. Tell her some strang kid from WI wishes her good luck. Let us know if she gets in cuz I'll for sure watch.
The "Deal or No Deal" video debuted at Easter brunch today, courtesy of Chris and his filmmaking prowess. I'm waiting for my mother to cave and let me post the video on the blog. Hopefully the producers call her. I've let her know you guys are ready to tune in when she's on the show, chosing suitcases. Stay tuned.
And welcome to the blogosphere, Pumping Princess! Thanks for delurking! Mind if I link you from here?
I liked your post on dlife about jobs. I even go so far as to take my medic alert bracelet off for the interview. Last interview i had, my pump beeped at me the bg reminder but i cleared it. The director asked if I was getting a call and I flatly said no. That was that.

So many information....You've got probably to find a very easy chair and to change the way your thoughts go...it may help to relax!
